For Shopify sellers
Know your real Shopify profit, product by product.
Shopify shows what you sold. This shows what you kept: profit and margin by month and by product, after product costs, payment fees, shipping, refunds, ads and apps. Built from the Shopify exports you already have, no app needed.
- One-time price, nothing to cancel
- No app, no store login
- Checked by a person against your export

Biggest cost: product costs, $54.25 of every $100.
Why sales aren't profit
Your sales number hides where the money goes.
In the fictional sample store, $13,737 of net sales over three months left $1,034 of profit: $7.53 of every $100. Product costs, shipping labels and ads took most of the rest.
- Shopify's profit reports stop at product cost. They subtract the cost you recorded (plus shipping costs, duties and import taxes in some reports). They don't mention ad spend, payment processing fees or app subscriptions.1
- Missing costs mean missing profit. Shopify says “Profit is reported only for products and variants that had cost recorded at the time they were sold.”1
- Refunds still cost you. The original card fee isn't returned to you when you refund an order.2
- Product costs$52.60
- Shipping labels$21.36
- Ad spend$12.88
- Payment fees$3.79
- Apps and plan$1.83
- Net profit$7.53

Profit by product (after discounts, refunds and product cost)
| Product | Units | Net sales | Gross profit | Margin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lavender candle | 169 | $3,853 | $2,535 | 65.8% |

Products under 15% margin are flagged. Fees, shipping, ads and apps are counted at the store level.
Money leaks, in plain English
- The tote bag loses money on every sale. After the average 15% discount it sells for $18.70 but costs $19.40, a loss of $0.70 per bag before shipping and fees.
- The gift box set is a big seller with a thin margin. It brings in 20% of net sales but only 4% of gross profit (8.9% margin).
- Shipping labels are the second-largest cost. Labels cost $2,935, or 21.4% of net sales, which is more than ad spend ($1,770). Free shipping means none of it is recovered at checkout.
- September sales grew, but profit fell. Net sales rose 15% from August while net profit fell 31% ($402 to $279). Ad spend rose $150 and shipping labels rose $145.
- Ads used up over a quarter of gross profit. Ad spend of $1,770 equals 27% of gross profit. Meta was $1,360 of it.
- Refunds are low overall. Refunds totalled $342, 2.3% of gross sales.

Who you're working with
Built by an analyst who's run Shopify stores
I'm Brayden, a metrics analyst in Tempe, Arizona. I build reporting for a large organization by day, and I've built and run Shopify stores. Back then I could see my sales every day, but I never really knew whether my ads were paying off or which products were worth keeping.
So I built the report I wish I'd had: your real profit, product by product, checked against your own exports and explained in plain English.
Checked before every delivery
- Totals recalculated independently and matched to your export
- Taxes kept out of sales
- Test and cancelled orders excluded
- Refunds and partial refunds handled
- Missing product costs flagged, never guessed
- Every input listed on an Assumptions sheet
Your data stays yours
- No login, ever. I never ask for your password or staff access.
- No customer details needed. Delete names, emails and addresses before you send.
- Deleted after 30 days. Your files are removed within 30 days after delivery.
- Nothing guessed. A missing cost is flagged, never made up.
- Never published. Your store name and numbers stay private.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is the Shopify Profit Report?
A report built from your own Shopify exports that shows your profit and margin by month and by product, after product costs, payment fees, shipping labels, refunds, ad spend and apps. You get it as an Excel or Google Sheets workbook, with a short plain-English list of the biggest money leaks.
Which package should I choose?
Profit Snapshot ($25) if you want profit by product for up to 3 months. True Net Profit ($60) if you run ads or pay for shipping labels: it adds both, covers up to 12 months and includes break-even ad spend. Monthly Profit Kit ($120) if you also want your Shopify plan, apps and other monthly costs included, plus a template to update it yourself each month.
What do I need to send?
Your Shopify orders export (in Shopify, go to Orders and click Export) and your product costs. If you've filled in Cost per item in Shopify, your products export already has a Cost per item column. If not, a simple list of product names and costs works. For True Net Profit and up, add your ad spend by month and your shipping label costs.
Do you need access to my Shopify store?
No. You send exports, never a password or staff access. You can delete customer names, emails and addresses from the orders export before you send it.
What if I don't know my product costs?
Send what you have. Any product without a cost is flagged in the report, never guessed. If most of your sales have no cost, I'll ask you before building, so the report is still useful.
How long does it take?
Delivery is 3 days for Profit Snapshot, 4 for True Net Profit and 5 for the Monthly Profit Kit, as listed on Fiverr. Faster delivery is available as an extra.
How is this different from a profit app?
Profit apps install in your store and usually charge every month. They're useful if you want daily tracking. This is a one-time report built from your exports and checked by a person, for stores that want a clear answer about the last 3 to 12 months without another subscription.
Why do I order through Fiverr?
Fiverr handles checkout, delivery and revisions. You pay at Fiverr's checkout, so I never see your card details, and after delivery you can accept the report or ask for revisions in the order.
Is this accounting or tax advice?
No. It's a profit report built from your own exports, to help you see which products and months make money. For taxes and bookkeeping, talk to your accountant.
What happens to my files?
They're used only to build your report and are deleted within 30 days after delivery. I don't share them, and I never publish your store name or numbers.
Do you work with Etsy, WooCommerce or other platforms?
The profit report is built for Shopify exports. If you sell elsewhere, message me before ordering and I'll tell you honestly whether I can build it. For a simple view of your sales from any system, see the free sales dashboard below.
Can I update the report myself next month?
Yes, with the Monthly Profit Kit. It comes with a reusable template and a short guide: paste in next month's exports and the formulas recalculate. The guide walks you through it.

Get a free one-page sales dashboard
For shops, cafés and studios on Square, Etsy, Clover, Toast or a spreadsheet: send the sales export you already have and I'll turn it into one page showing your best days, top sellers and slow hours. The first one is free, with no obligation. If you like it, a flat monthly refresh is available, and the price is shared before anything is charged.
